The BBS RT88 is a motorsport-derived wheel engineered to combine racing heritage with the durability required for modern high-performance road vehicles. Developed through close collaboration between BBS Motorsport teams in Germany and the United States, the RT88 adapts the iconic design and engineering philosophy of the legendary BBS E88 racing wheel for road and track-day use.
The wheel features a forged multi-spoke center inspired by the E88 combined with a high-strength forged barrel derived from the BBS LM program developed in Japan. This architecture improves rigidity while reducing unsprung mass, enhancing steering precision, suspension response, and overall driving dynamics. Unlike dedicated racing wheels, the RT88 incorporates durable finishes and improved air retention to ensure reliable operation in everyday driving conditions.
Manufactured using advanced forging technology and optimized through FEM structural analysis, the RT88 delivers an excellent strength-to-weight ratio. The design also provides clearance for modern high-performance braking systems, including carbon ceramic brake packages, making it suitable for demanding street and track environments.
