The VERUS ENGINEERING A0166A Cam Solenoid Heat Shield Kit is designed to address excessive heat exposure affecting the AVCS cam solenoid area on 2008+ Subaru EJ25-equipped WRX and STI models. Due to the close proximity of the cam solenoids to the exhaust headers, the factory plastic heat shield is prone to melting and degradation under sustained high-temperature conditions, particularly during track use. Failure of the OEM shield can lead to AVCS-related malfunctions.

This kit replaces the factory solution with a durable heat shield manufactured from 1.6 mm thick 304 stainless steel and supplemented by heat-reflective gold foil. The design provides improved coverage of critical components and significantly enhanced heat reflection compared to the OEM plastic piece. The result is improved thermal protection, extended service life, and consistent operation of the AVCS system. The kit is compatible with both OEM and aftermarket exhaust headers and installs using a simple bolt-on process.
